Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food between 1995 and 1997, Philippe Vasseur is the founder of the World Forum for a Responsible Economy and the honorary president of Réseau Alliances, the first network of responsible entrepreneurs in the Hauts-de-France region, which he chaired between 2005 and 2019, and whose objective is to improve the social and environmental impact of companies.

In 2016, Philippe Vasseur was appointed “special commissioner for the revitalization and reindustrialization of Hauts-de-France” by Emmanuel Macron. He will chair the rev3 mission from 2018 to 2021.

A former student at the École supérieure de journalisme in Lille, Philippe Vasseur was director of the economic editorial staff of the newspaper Le Figaro, editor-in-chief of the economic daily Les Echos and responsible for economic and social news on TF1.

He was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from 1995 to 1997. In 2000, he left politics to become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe until 2015.

In 2016, Emmanuel Macron, Minister of Economy and Finance, appointed him “special commissioner for the revitalization and reindustrialization of Hauts-de-France”.

From 2005 to January 2019, Philippe Vasseur chaired Réseau Alliances, the first network of responsible entrepreneurs in the Hauts-de-France region whose objective is to improve the social and environmental impact of companies. He is now its Honorary President. In 2007, he founded the World Forum for a Responsible Economy. From 2018 to 2021, he is the President of the Mission rev3 which aims to make Hauts-de-France one of the most advanced European regions in terms of energy transition and digital technologies.
