Biography
Chris Van Assche has a 20-year background from international enterprises, after which he established his own company in Visual Communication. Three years later, his company was bought by a Dutch group. Since Chris is engaged in social projects, first as a volunteer in an NGO, later as a social entrepreneur with African Drive and Baobab Express.
In rural Africa, there is a big need for better transport. To tackle that, Chris started a sustainable business in Benin focused on improving the ecosystem of mobility while striving to become a motor of social progress. Even though Chris had zero experience in transportation, he applied his thinking and skills to build a humanized mobility business from the ground up.
African Drive is seeding good business practices and proving to the community that it is possible to run a business while staying away from corruption – showing the Western world there is a way to develop sustainable businesses in Africa that motivate the tribes beyond charity and create shared value for all.
