Fishing, aquaculture, renewable marine energy: Companies face multiple challenges in using and conserving marine resources.
What do we derive from the sea? How can its resources be used sustainably, to benefit our economic and social development? The focus here lies beyond fishing and extends to all that the seas can provide: medicines, cosmetics, even recreation and leisure has its place.
These issues have given rise to the “Sea for Society” project, a sort of giant think tank involving input from 11 European countries. Also, it’s Nausicaä behind the ship’s wheel.
