Discover the 2nd largest industrial project currently underway in France

Since 2006, the EDF utility company and Dunkirk Port Authority have been planning to develop a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, in the nearby town of Loon-Plage, capable of accommodating the world’s largest LNG tanker ships.
The Dunkirk LNG Terminal: €1 billion worth of investment – current workforce of 1,700. A capacity of 13 billion m3 of natural gas. The 3 largest tanks under construction in Europe (190,000 m3 each). This terminal is the 2nd largest industrial project now underway in France. Service startup: end of 2015.

The objective of this visit is to learn about the LNG product, LNG terminal operations and the specificities of the Dunkirk terminal, including its integration into the local territory and the accompaniment schedule, to be complemented by a discovery tour of the 56-ha project site.
