A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA Paris), Luc Rémont began his career in 1993 as an engineer with the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA). In 1996, he joined the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry, where he held a number of different positions. Firstly, at the Treasury Department, he was in charge of relations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank, then of the State’s holdings in transport sector companies. He then became technical advisor, in charge of shareholdings, then deputy director in the cabinet of finance ministers from 2002 to 2007.

In 2007, he joined Merrill Lynch, and in 2009 became Managing Director of the corporate and investment, Bank of America Merrill Lynch in France. He joined Schneider Electric in April 2014 and became President of Schneider Electric France, then in April 2017 was appointed Managing Director of Schneider Electric International Operations in charge of South America, Africa and the Middle East, India, East Asia and the Pacific.

In addition, between 2015 and 2018, Luc Rémont was President of GIMELEC. GIMELEC is the professional organization that federates the 230 companies designing and deploying electrical and digital technologies for optimized and secure control of energy and processes in buildings, industries and infrastructures. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Naval Group, Europe’s leading naval defense company, from 2014 to 2020. Since November 23, 2022, Luc Rémont has been Chairman and CEO of the EDF Group. Luc Rémont is married with 4 children.
